Casablanca – Speculation surrounding Luis Díaz’s future at Bayern Munich continues despite his desire to remain at the club. The Colombian international has attracted strong interest from Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal, with an initial offer of at least €70 million. However, Diaz has already informed Bayern’s management that he intends to continue his spell in Bavaria.
At an event at the Munich Press Club, Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen clarified the situation regarding Luis Díaz’s future. “We’d be stupid to do that; we have such a good team. Let them play, let them score goals,” said the 58-year-old.
Since arriving at Bayern Munich, Luis Díaz has established himself as a key player in Bayern’s system. He managed to score 26 goals and provided 19 assists in his first season in the Bavarian Club.
He has clearly signaled his intention to stay with the German champions and continue playing in Bavaria.
This isn’t the first time Al Hilal has tried to sign the explosive Colombian winger. During the last summer transfer window, the club had already tried to convince Díaz with a high-paying contract. A net annual salary of up to €22.5 million was reportedly mentioned as a way to lure him to the Saudi Pro League.
