Casablanca – King Mohammed VI will preside over the official ceremonies marking the 27th anniversary of his accession to the Throne on Thursday and Friday, according to a statement from the Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery.
The celebrations will begin on Thursday, July 30, with a reception chaired by the King in the afternoon at the Prefecture Square in the city of M’diq, within the M’diq-Fnideq prefecture.
On Friday, July 31, King Mohammed VI, in his capacity as Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, will preside over the oath-taking ceremony at Mechouar Square in the Royal Palace of Tetouan. Newly graduated officers from Morocco’s military, paramilitary, and civilian schools and institutes will take their oath before the King.
Following the ceremony, the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces will host a luncheon at the Royal Guard Officers’ Mess in Tetouan. The event will be held on the King’s instructions, according to the statement.
Later that afternoon, King Mohammed VI will preside over the Allegiance Ceremony at Mechouar Square in the Royal Palace of Tetouan.
The ceremonies are part of Morocco’s annual Throne Day celebrations, which commemorate the anniversary of King Mohammed VI’s accession to the throne. This year marks the 27th anniversary of the occasion, one of the country’s most important national celebrations.
