Casablanca – Morocco’s National Agency for Public Facilities (ANEP) has launched an international open tender for the external development of the Hassan II Stadium in Benslimane Province, advancing construction of what is expected to become one of the country’s flagship sports venues.
The tender, covering the stadium’s seventh construction package, carries an estimated value of MAD 2.68 billion (approximately $273 million) including taxes.
Companies wishing to participate must submit a provisional guarantee of MAD 45 million (around $4.6 million), reflecting the scale of the project.
According to the tender documents, the contract covers a wide range of infrastructure works surrounding the stadium rather than the venue itself.
Planned works include access roads, intersections, public squares, pedestrian walkways, utility corridors, technical structures, maintenance and security facilities, as well as water, drainage, electricity, telecommunications, and fiber-optic networks.
The project also includes landscaping, irrigation systems, urban furniture, lighting, road signage, protective barriers, and the installation of solar panels as part of the site’s external infrastructure.
The works will be carried out under the supervision of Morocco’s National Company for the Construction and Management of Sports Facilities (SONARGES), while the National Agency for Public Facilities is overseeing the tender process on behalf of the project.
The tender also requires the successful contractor to employ at least 20% local labor and gives preference to Moroccan-made materials wherever they meet the required technical specifications.
The announcement comes roughly one month after authorities launched a separate MAD 126.3 million (approximately $12.9 million) tender for the stadium’s elevators and escalators, marking another milestone in the construction of the future Hassan II Stadium.
