Rabat – Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo married Georgina Rodriguez in a private civil ceremony on Tuesday, August 11. The wedding took place in the coastal town of Cascais, Portugal. The event formalized a relationship that began 10 years ago in Madrid, Spain.
The couple confirmed the news through a joint Instagram post that showed their hands resting together and clearly displaying wedding rings. Portuguese media quickly dubbed the event the wedding of the year.
The private gathering included their five children and only close family members, according to Portuguese media cited by the BBC. The ceremony took place exactly one year after Rodriguez announced their engagement on August 11, 2025. She shared a photograph of her diamond ring on Instagram, captioning it, “Yes, I do. The 41-year-old athlete and the model met at a Gucci store in Madrid. Rodriguez worked there as a sales assistant while Ronaldo played for Real Madrid. They welcomed their first daughter, Alana Martina, in 2017.
