Rabat – Critical Mineral Resources has appointed an independent consultancy to prepare the first Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for its Agadir Melloul copper project in Morocco.
Addison Mining Services, a geological and mining consultancy specializing in mineral resource estimates, has started reviewing the project’s geological, drilling, and assay data. The company has also completed a site visit to examine the geology and copper mineralization at Agadir Melloul.
The MRE follows CMR’s drilling programs in 2025 and 2026, which focused mainly on defining and expanding mineralization at Zone 1 North. The company expects to publish the maiden MRE in October 2026.
According to CMR, the initial estimate is expected to cover drilling across about 5% to 6% of its current permit area. This figure does not include additional land for which the company holds exclusive rights to pursue future acquisitions.
Exploration and development activities will continue alongside the independent resource assessment.
James Hogg, Principal Geologist and CEO of Addison, said the company was “extremely encouraged” by the geology and mineralization observed during its work at Agadir Melloul.
He also commended CMR’s exploration approach and the quality of the geological and drilling data provided for the resource estimate.
CMR CEO Charlie Long said the appointment of Addison and the start of the MRE were an “important milestone” for the project.
He added that the estimate will provide the first independently assessed mineral resource for Agadir Melloul and serve as a technical basis for the next stage of project development.
Long also noted that the initial estimate will cover only a small part of CMR’s current permit area, while exploration continues elsewhere on the project.
Addison Mining Services will prepare the estimate in line with the Australasian Joint Ore Reserves Committee (JORC) Code, an internationally recognized standard for reporting mineral resources and ore reserves.
Critical Mineral Resources is a UK-based exploration company focused on copper and other critical mineral projects in Morocco. Agadir Melloul is one of its key projects as the company expands its exploration activities in the country.
