Meknes – Tottenham Hotspur have secured Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush on a season-long loan.
The arrangement guarantees that the Egyptian international will stay in North London beyond his initial term, as Spurs are bound by a mandatory purchase clause to make the transfer permanent ahead of the 2027 season.
According to Reuters citing British media, the buy clause is valued at a guaranteed £50 million, with an additional £10 million structured in potential add-ons.
Speaking after completing his move to North London, the Egyptian forward expressed his enthusiasm for the new chapter in his career and pointed out the club’s ambition as a key factor in his decision.
“It feels amazing to be here. I’m so excited to get started with the team and I can’t wait to meet the fans,” Marmoush said.
“Tottenham Hotspur is one of the biggest clubs in England, if not the world, and the project was very attractive to me,” he added.
The Egyptian forward also noted that direct conversations with Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi played a crucial role in convincing him to make the move.
“I’ve spoken with the head coach, I loved what he had to say and I’m sure our passion for the game will go very well together,” he concluded.
The 27-year-old player experienced contrasting fortunes during his spell at Manchester City, where his strong debut during the 2024-25 season was followed by a struggle for consistent playing time in Pep Guardiola’s squad.
His goal return reflected that shift in form, managing just three goals across 21 Premier League appearances last season after netting seven in his first six months at the Etihad.
On the international stage, Marmoush featured in five matches for Egypt during their 2026 FIFA World Cup, failing to find the back of the net before the Pharaohs were knocked out in the Round of 16 by tournament runners-up Argentina.
