Casablanca – Morocco’s U20 side will face Algeria today, August 28, in the semifinal of the men’s football tournament at the 2026 Mediterranean Games in Italy.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m. Morocco time, with fans able to follow the encounter live on Arryadia, the third channel of Morocco’s SNRT group.
Morocco’s road to the semifinals
The Atlas Lion Cubs reached the last four after finishing second in Group A with four points.
The Atlas Lion Cubs began their campaign with a 2-2 draw against Turkiye, followed by a 1-0 defeat to Tunisia. They bounced back in their final group-stage match, securing a commanding 5-1 victory over North Macedonia to book their place in the semifinals.
Despite finishing level on points with Turkiye, Morocco secured second place thanks to a superior goal difference of +3, with Tunisia topping the group on seven points.
Algeria’s perfect group stage
Algeria enters the semifinal after an unbeaten run through Group B.
The Algerian side secured a 2-1 win over Kosovo, producing an impressive 3-1 victory against hosts Italy. Algeria then completed the group stage with a 2-0 triumph over Albania.
The North African rivals will now meet with a place in the Mediterranean Games final at stake.
The winner will advance to face either Tunisia or Italy, who will contest the other semifinal.
The 20th Mediterranean Games are being held from August 21 to September 3 in Taranto and several other cities across southern Italy.
