El Jadida Salon du Cheval Sets 2026 Edition for October 13-18

El Jadida Salon du Cheval 2026 Edition

Fez — Morocco’s El Jadida Horse Show (Salon du Cheval) will return from October 13 to 18 for its 17th edition at the Mohammed VI Exhibition Park.

The event will take place under the theme “The Horse in the Service of Humanity.” Organizers say the theme will explore the longstanding relationship between people and horses while emphasizing welfare, dignity, and respect.

Organized by the Association du Salon du Cheval (Horse Show Association), the event has developed into a major meeting point for Morocco’s equine sector since its creation in 2008.

The show brings together breeders, riders, artisans, researchers, exhibitors, institutions, and equestrian professionals alongside the wider public.

This year’s theme will also highlight the horse’s role in Moroccan culture, sport, leisure, rural life, and economic development. Organizers said the program will address the responsibility humans have toward horses, particularly regarding their welfare.

El Jadida steps up its international show jumping profile

One of the biggest changes in 2026 will come in international show jumping.

The El Jadida leg of the “Morocco Royal Tour” will move into the CSI5*-W category, the highest level featured on the circuit. A CSI2* competition will also take place alongside it.

Organizers described the upgrade as a major step for Morocco’s position on the international show jumping calendar. It will also give Moroccan riders greater exposure to high-level competition alongside leading international athletes.

The Grand Prix of King Mohammed VI for Show Jumping is scheduled for Sunday, October 18, according to the event’s published program.

Tbourida and Moroccan horse breeds return to center stage

The Grand Prix of King Mohammed VI of Tbourida will again form a major part of the program.

Sorbas representing different regions of Morocco will compete in demonstrations combining coordination, riding skill, discipline, and traditional horsemanship. Tbourida remains one of the show’s most popular expressions of Morocco’s equestrian heritage.

The 2026 edition will also feature competitions celebrating Morocco’s principal horse breeds.

The program includes championships for Barb and Arab-Barb horses, as well as a breeders’ competition for Purebred Arabian horses. An international Purebred Arabian morphology and movement competition, classified as a “Title Show,” is also planned.

Beyond competition, the show will host cultural and scientific discussions addressing developments in the equine sector, heritage preservation, and changing equestrian practices.

Morocco’s regions will also have space to present traditional expertise, local products, and their role in preserving equestrian culture.
