Rabat – Amine Adli came off the bench to score a spectacular late goal, helping Bournemouth secure an impressive victory over the seven-time European champions.
Bournemouth claimed a memorable 3-0 win over AC Milan at the Vitality Stadium on October 22 in the 3rd round of the league phase of the Europa League,
Adli found the net in the 84th minute, just seven minutes after coming on as a substitute. The Moroccan curled a powerful left-footed free-kick through Milan’s defensive wall and past goalkeeper Lorenzo Torriani from around 25 yards.
The goal completed an impressive performance by Bournemouth, who took control through two first-half penalties. Justin Kluivert opened the scoring in the eighth minute before Marcus Tavernier doubled the advantage in the 32nd minute.
Milan’s chances of recovering suffered a setback when goalkeeper Mike Maignan was sent off in the 27th minute for striking Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams during a corner-kick situation.
Reduced to 10 men, the Italian side struggled to contain Bournemouth, who capitalized on their numerical advantage to maintain control throughout the match.
Adli’s late strike provided a fitting finish to a dominant display against one of European football’s most decorated clubs.
The victory extended the English side’s perfect start to its Europa League campaign, with three wins from three matches.
For the Moroccan international, the goal was an opportunity to make his mark in the Europa League and help Bournemouth in their promising European run.
