Washington – The 22nd of Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP22), slated on November 7-18 in Marrakech, is an essential step in the open process for the implementation of Paris Agreement, said, on Thursday in Washington, special Envoy for the COP22’s mobilization, Hakima El Haite.
“It is an Essential COP in the open process for the implementation of Paris Agreement, which will span several years”, El Haite highlighted during a high-level meeting on ‘the Mediterranean Plan for a Blue Growth’, organized on the sidelines of the US Department of State Conference on Oceans (Sept.15-16)
She added that “this is a moment of truth for climate diplomacy and commitment by world’s state and non-state stakeholders’, saying that ‘It is only by concrete, clear, and ambitious decisions and actions, can we contain global warming below 2 degree Celsius’.
The minister also noted that COP22 aims to encourage countries to have ambitious, concrete and inclusive National Contributions (INDC) that could be used in integrated public policies.
