Cairo – The Arab League Council welcomed, here Thursday, the efforts of King Mohammed VI, Chairman of Al-Quds Committee, to defend the city of Al-Quds and support the Palestinian resistance.

At the end of its 146th session held at the level of Foreign Ministers, the Council praised the efforts of the Agency of Beit Mal Al Quds in financing the restoration of the surroundings of Al Aqsa and projects in various fields, in addition to the rehabilitation of mosques and historical monuments in the holy city.

In this respect, the Council called upon the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and religious and cultural guides in the world to mobilize the international public opinion to stop the destruction of sacred Islamic and Christian sites and their preservation, and end the attacks against Muslims and Christians in the city of Al Quds and throughout the occupied Palestinian territory.

It recalled the visits made by the OIC Ministerial Contact Group to several influential international capitals to explain the dangerous Israeli measures in Al Quds, and call the international community to shoulder its responsibility in this respect.

The Council also encouraged the Ministerial Group to continue its work for the protection of Al Quds.
