Rabat – The offshore exploitation well Cap Boujdour CB-1 will be abandoned because it has not yielded a commercial find, Morocco’s hydrocarbons and mines office (ONHYM) said on Monday.

ONHYM added that in exploration off Morocco’s Atlantic coast will continue in partnership with Kosmos energy Offshore Morocco HC and Capricon Exploration and Development.

The information collected from the gas exploration well CB-1, located 170 kilometers off Boujdour, confirm the substantial exploration potential of the 22,000 square-kilometer Cap Boujdour block, the same source said.
