Rabat  – Maintaining flights by Moroccan carrier RAM towards African countries affected by the Ebola epidemic show an approach of responsible solidarity which is in line with Morocco’s commitments, under the aegis of the King Mohammed VI, for a better involvement of Morocco in its African economic and social development, said RAM CEO Driss Benhima.

By deciding to keep its flights going, the RAM is responding to the call by international organizations, such as the UN and the WHO, which warned against a siege that would complicate efforts to combat the epidemic, Benhima told daily “L’Economiste” on Monday.

The Kingdom wants to contribute to opening up affected countries, he said, noting that this step is in conformity with RAM’s history which has always been Morocco’s engine in Africa. “This is an illustration of our natural Africanness,” he said.
