Lisbon- The Head of the Portuguese diplomacy, Rui Machete, will pay an official visit to Morocco on January 20-21, said official sources on Friday in Lisbon.
During his visit, Rui Machete will meet with government officials, MPs and Moroccan businessmen, said the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement. This visit, the statement said, “is of great importance given the close cooperation relations between the two neighboring countries, and the growing trade ties between Portugal and Morocco.”
This is the first visit of the Portuguese top diplomat since his appointment to this position following the cabinet reshuffle in July.
