Washington- King Mohammed VI on Tuesday evening arrived in Washington D.C on an official visit to the United States.
The Moroccan monarch is due to hold a meeting with his American counterpart, President Barack Obama, on Friday in the White House.
The King’s delegation includes royal advisers Taïeb Fassi-Fihri, Fouad Ali El Himma and Yassir Znagui, in addition to minister of foreign affairs and cooperation, Salaheddine Mezouar, economy and finance minister, Mohamed Boussaid and spokesman of the Royal Palace and the Kingdom’s historiographer, Abdelhak Lamrini.
Besides government officials and the King’s advisers, the high-profile delegation is also expected to be comprised of key decision-makers in the domain of business and finances such as Miriam Bensaleh Chaqroun, President of the Moroccan employers’ body (CGEM); Mohamed Kettani, President of Attijariwafa bank; Mustapha Terrab, President of Office Chérifien des Phosphates; Karim Hajji, General Director of Casablanca Stock Exchange; and Abdeslam Ahizoun, president of Maroc Telecom.
