Rabat- Egyptian football giants Al Ahly have made a dramatic entrance for their latest signing, Moroccan international Yahya Attiyat Allah.
The club officially announced the acquisition of the right-back from Russian club Sochi on a one-year loan deal with an option to buy.
On Friday, Amir Tawfik, the Director of Contracts and Executive Director of Al Ahly Football Company, announced that all administrative and financial formalities have been completed.
However, it was the accompanying video that has captured the attention of fans and media alike. The cinematic introduction sees Attiyat Allah draped in a traditional Moroccan jellaba, a striking contrast to the typically flamboyant football player unveilings. The scene is set with the player holding a staff, standing before a closed curtain.
With a dramatic tap of the staff, the curtain rises to reveal a lavishly decorated room, a veritable shrine to Al Ahly’s illustrious history. The space is adorned with the club’s iconic red jerseys, portraits of legendary players, and even nods to famous Egyptian artists.
The visual spectacle culminates with Attiyat Allah’s declaration, “Here is Cairo, the city of stars… Here is Al Ahly, the stage of dreams.”
The move has also generated significant interest due to the ongoing tensions between fellow Moroccan national team player Mohamed Chibi of Pyramids FC and Al Ahly’s Egyptian star, Hussein Ali El Shahat.
Attiyat Allah’s move to Al Ahly has also sparked controversy among Wydad Athletic Club fans. The Moroccan giants share a fierce rivalry with Al Ahly, with the two clubs frequently clashing in the latter stages of African club competitions.
Many Wydad supporters expressed disappointment with Attiyat Allah’s decision, arguing that the club played a crucial role in his development and that joining their arch-rival is a betrayal.
