Rabat – France’s opposition leader Joran Bardella has spoken admiringly of Morocco’s culture and sense of safety.

Speaking on a TV show on a French channel, Bardella noted that Morocco is a country with a rich culture and where streets enjoy a sense of stability and safety.

Morocco is a great country that bestows a sense of pride and belonging on visitors, he explained, adding that France is lacking this due to increasing social and security challenges.

The young politician’s statements echo his grandfather’s reason for leaving France and living in Morocco, to which he dedicated a section of his book “Ce que je cherche” (What I look for), published in November.

In the book,  Bardella reminisces about the memorable vacations that he spent at his grandfather’s in Casablanca. He wrote that spending time in Morocco during childhood filled him with happiness, especially with the sun sending him lulled.

Bardella said his grandfather fell in love with Morocco, with its warm and welcoming atmosphere. He added that his grandfather believes that “France has changed” and that he no longer recognizes it due to the “disorder, tension, and aggressions.”

Echoing his grandfather’s image of France, the far-right politician said that his country is missing those standards that were once a source of inspiration.

Morocco has been attracting admiration in recent years due to its rich cultural and natural assets as well as for its safety.

As a cultural and natural hub for tourists coming from around the world, Morocco offers a rich experience that spans from visiting natural sites that involve beaches, waterfalls, and deserts, in addition to historical sites in cities Fez, Marrakesh, Meknes, and Essaouira.

The Atlas Mountains, Sahara desert camps, and unique coastal towns like Essaouira and Taghazout add to the natural attractiveness of Morocco.

On the safety front, Morocco was recently ranked among the safest countries for travelers in 2025. This performance once again confirmed the country’s commitment to security and safety.

In addition, the North African country has boosted its security measures in recent years. The Global Terrorism Index 2024 made a positive assessment of Morocco’s security levels, further noting that the country noticeably developed in recent years.
