Rabat– Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly prioritizing the pursuit of Brahim Diaz as the January transfer window approaches, according to English media reports.
The Spanish coach is said to be closely monitoring Diaz‘s situation at Real Madrid, where the player faces strong competition for regular minutes despite his growing importance to the Moroccan national team.
Arteta, a known admirer of creative talents, is drawn to Diaz’s technical skill and versatility. The Malaga-born midfielder’s rise in prominence has made him a hot commodity, with Premier League rivals Liverpool and Tottenham also expressing interest in the former AC Milan standout.
Currently sitting 4th in the Premier League with 19 points from 11 matches, Arsenal may be looking to reinforce their squad to revive their season as they chase the domestic title. However, the Gunners face a potential hurdle as Real Madrid remains firm on keeping Diaz in their long-term plans.
Despite rumors of an impending summer clear-out at Real Madrid to address financial challenges, Spanish sports outlet Marca has reported that Diaz is viewed as a key component of the team’s future. Manager Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly grown increasingly reliant on the Moroccan international, who has transitioned from a squad player to a vital contributor for Los Blancos.
Real Madrid’s financial strategy, influenced by reduced revenue streams following a ban on concerts at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, has sparked speculation of potential player sales. Alongside Diaz, names like Aurélien Tchouaméni, Ferland Mendy, and Dani Ceballos have been floated as potential departures.
But Diaz’s growing importance to the team could see him remain untouchable, making Arsenal’s pursuit even more challenging as they look to bolster their attacking options in the winter window.
