For over 20 years, Mawazine has brought music and music enthusiasts alike in hoards of millions to the coastal city of Rabat, creating a cultural hub reveling in music and performances of artists from all over the globe. Different headliners appear every night, with music filling the air into the late hours of the night. The crowds flock to Olm Souissi, Nahda Space, Sale Beach, and Bouregreg where stages have been set up, to relish in a variety of Moroccan, International, Oriental, and Rhythms of the World.
Mawazine crowds are filled with patrons of all ages, getting together to support their favorite artists, singing and dancing along to the elaborate performances to behold from the stage. Youngsters climb onto the shoulders of family and friends to get a better view, as the crowd claps hands together, shining flashlights, and singing along to every word. Dancers, special effects, stunts, and extravagant visual displays on the stage are projected on huge screens for the audience to delight in.
This year, musical artists DiDiB, Nicki Nicole, Camilla Cabello, and Burna Boy have put on performances crowds will surely remember, singing as flame effects shot into the air, lights flashed into the crowd, and BMX riders flung themselves into the air performing incredible jumps and flips off of skate ramps on stage. Anticipation circulates around the performances still to come, as Central Cee and Nikki Minaj are set to take the stage in the coming days.
