Casablanca – The vibrant city of Casablanca witnessed today the grand inauguration of the third edition of the International Congress “Digital Now!”, which is hosted by the Club Des Dirigeants (CDD) and sponsored by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform.

Set to discuss the overarching theme of “SMEs in the Digital Age: Unlocking Potential, Inspiring Innovation” over the next two days, this edition promises to be a pivotal moment for Morocco’s digital transformation ecosystem.

 

Driss Drif, the founding president of the Club des Dirigeants, set the tone during the inaugural session, emphasizing the progressive vision aligning with Morocco’s digital trajectory guided by King Mohammed VI. Drif expressed optimism that the third edition of Digital Now! “will act as a catalyst for ideas and innovations that will shape the future of digital in our nation.”

Also speaking at the event, Sarah Lamrani, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, underscored the wealth of Morocco’s youth and their burgeoning interest in the digital landscape.

 

Lamrani stated: “To nurture this growing appetite, we are focusing on strengthening educational programs to position our human capital in high-value digital roles.”

She highlighted a recent agreement with the Ministry of Higher Education, signaling the introduction of new courses tailored to the needs of the private sector in Moroccan universities.

 

Notably, the aim is to increase the number of graduates from 8,000 to 22,400 per year, aligning with the evolving demands of the digital workforce.

“In the midst of the digital surge for entrepreneurs, the ministry aspires to support the Moroccan economic fabric through initiatives such as direct assistance, talent development, and innovation encouragement,” Lamrani added.

This third edition follows the pivotal second edition, which took place in December 2020 amid the global COVID-19 pandemic. Participants navigated unprecedented disruptions, sharing inspirational experiences that showcased resilience in the face of adversity.

 

The congress addresses key topics such as the role of the state in promoting innovation among Small and Medium Enterprise (SMEs), how leading companies can inspire and support Moroccan SMEs, the characteristics of the Entrepreneur 3.0 in the digital age, and strategies for successful alliances between SMEs and startups.

Additionally, the digital maturity of SMEs takes center stage as a crucial starting point for a successful digital transformation.

 

Reflecting on the inaugural congress held on October 26 and 27, 2019, under the theme “Enterprise Transformation in the Digital Age,” it marked a significant event in the realm of business digitization.

As the third edition unfolds, the congress serves as a testament to the country’ commitment to digital progress, offering a platform for collaboration, innovation, and transformative ideas that will shape the nation’s digital future.
