Mohammedia – AtlantaSanad Assurance has revealed Assia, its first intelligent assistant based on artificial intelligence, marking a first for insurance companies in Morocco.

Assia is designed for round-the-clock availability via the company’s website, allowing customers to access insurance services whenever they need without waiting for office hours.

The assistant handles many everyday tasks, notably helping with auto accident claims, guiding users through filling out an amicable observation, advising on contact with authorities, explaining which documents are required to build a claim file, and clarifying the guarantees, conditions, ceilings, and thresholds of various insurance contracts.

It also provides advice for subscribing to insurance products, managing claims, and options related to savings and retirement product buy-backs.

AtlantaSanad asserts that Assia is more than just a tool. “The launch of Assia is part of the continuity of our innovation strategy and represents a reaffirmation of our commitment to putting technology at the service of insurance and policyholders,” says Jalal Benchekroun, the General Director.

The name “Assia” comes from “AtlantaSanad Solutions IA”, highlighting the company’s ambition to place AI at the core of its customer experience.

Before Assia, AtlantaSanad had already implemented a human-style chatbot integrated into instant messaging services to enable simpler processes like requesting quotes, declaring claims, or tracking them across multiple branches.

Assia is expected to improve customer experience by reducing friction in the claims process, making contract terms clearer, and increasing transparency.

AtlantaSanad aims to combine technological performance with human-style proximity. Routine, repetitive queries are handled by Assia, while more complex or exceptional situations can be escalated to human agents.

AtlantaSanad Assurance was formed in 2020 from the merger of two historic Moroccan companies, Atlanta and Sanad, under the Holmarcom Group. It offers both life and non-life insurance products across all 12 regions of Morocco through a network of over 360 exclusive agents and some 300 broker partners.

In bancassurance, the company recently became the exclusive partner of Crédit du Maroc as of January 2025, and it provides inclusive insurance options through its collaboration with Barid Cash and regulatory oversight by the CNRA.

By introducing Assia, AtlantaSanad continues its strategy of digitalization, customer centricity, and innovation, aiming to make insurance more accessible, transparent, and responsive to the needs of modern clients.
