Rabat – Morocco’s Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, is leading a high-level security delegation on a working visit to Turkey. The trip coincides with his participation in the International Security Equipment Exhibition and Forum (IGEF 2025), taking place in Ankara from September 18 to 20.
According to a joint statement from Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) and General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), the visit comes at the invitation of Turkish authorities.
During his stay, Hammouchi held talks with Mahmut Demirtaş, Director General of the Turkish National Police. The two officials discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation, advancing joint security initiatives, and enhancing mechanisms to address shared threats and challenges.
The discussions focused on a wide range of pressing security issues, including the fight against irregular migration and its links with organized crime networks, as well as the modernization of police training and investment in human capital to meet the challenges of future security.
The two sides also exchanged views on Morocco’s preparations to host several major international events, notably the 93rd General Assembly of INTERPOL in Marrakech in November 2025, the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in 2025, and the FIFA World Cup in 2030, which Morocco will host jointly with Portugal and Spain.

As part of his program, Hammouchi and his delegation toured the exhibition halls of IGEF 2025, which serves as a global platform showcasing the latest technological innovations in security and defense.
