Rabat – Morocco’s national carrier Royal Air Maroc (RAM) inaugurated a new direct route linking Casablanca and Munich.

A statement from Royal Air Maroc said the flight operates between the two destinations twice a week on Mondays and Fridays.

The inaugural flight took off from Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca at 1:30 p.m. local time and landed at 6 p.m. at Munich International Airport.

“This new connection represents a strategic bridge between Morocco and Germany, designed to foster economic, cultural, and technological exchanges between the two countries,” Royal Air Maroc said.

The communique added that the flight also meets the growing demand for connectivity between the two countries, as well as neighboring markets like Austria and Switzerland.

The new route makes Munich the second German destination served by RAM regularly, after Frankfurt, the statement said, indicating that the airline already operates a daily flight between Casablanca and Frankfurt.

This is in addition to seasonal connections from Düsseldorf and Frankfurt to Nador and Oujda.

RAM concluded its statement, emphasizing its network expansion as part of the airline’s broader development plan. It also seeks to cater to the needs of tourists, the Moroccan and African diaspora, as well as business travelers.

“It also aims to boost tourism by allowing German tour operators to market travel packages departing from Munich and Frankfurt,” the statement said, adding that the flight offers German passengers direct access to RAM’s African network, particularly in West Africa.
