Casablanca – Casablanca hosted the Africa Financial Industry Summit (AFIS) Awards 2025, during which it honored leaders and institutions shaping the future of finance in Africa. Organized in association with Forvis Mazars, the event honored the innovation of forward-thinking key players who are rewriting the future of finance in Africa.

The awards, organized under six large categories, showcased the achievements that symbolize the vigor and resilience of economic transformation in Africa. Among 30 nominees, the jury of experts identified winners according to their tangible effect on the world of sustainable growth.

Among the winners, Mohamed El Kettani, CEO of Attijariwafa Bank Morocco, won the African Banker Awards for his efforts in leading the organization to a record 29% growth in consolidated net profit in 2024, expanding its reach across more than 15 countries.

The African Fund award went to Helios Investment Partners for successfully managing funds above $3 billion and investing in 30 countries.

The African Woman in Finance award went to Chilufya Mutale-Mwila, Co-Founder of eShandi, for empowering thousands of women entrepreneurs through digital microcredit solutions.

Abdellatif Jouahri, the governor of Bank Al-Maghrib, received the African Central Bank Governor award for his role in maintaining the monetary stability in Morocco.

HUB2 received the African Disrupter recognition for its efforts in digitally processing more than 300 million banking transactions.

Heinie Werth, CEO of SanlamAllianz, won the African Insurer award for increasing their reach to 30 million customers in 26 countries.

“Forvis Mazars is proud to support those who are building the foundations of sustainable prosperity in Africa,” said Forvis Mazars’ Abdou Diop, while the deputy CEO of AFIS, Frédéric Maury, praised the winners for symbolizing “the strength, resilience, and ambition of the continent’s financial sector.”

Founded by Jeune Afrique Media Group with the support of the IFC, AFIS continues to champion an inclusive, pan-African financial ecosystem that fuels real economic growth.
