Rabat – Viral screenshots posted online put Israel on Campus Coalition under scrutiny for offering $250 incentives to convince students to attend a pro-Israel rally in Washington DC amid the Israeli army’s genocidal war against the Gaza Strip.

The screenshots show a woman announcing a “big pro-Israel rally planned next week on Tuesday in Washington, adding that the Israel on Campus Coalition is offering incentives for “college students to attend the rally.”

“The rally is sponsored by the Jewish Federations of North America and the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations,” the post noted.

The controversial post has sparked scores of sarcastic and condemnatory comments.

“So now Israel is so ‘desperate’ to hold a ‘pro Israel rally’ that it’s prepared to assemble a ‘rent a crowd’ in Washington DC and ready to bribe college students to attend the rally. Just proves that Israel might have won the battle but has lost the war, Big Time,” a commenter wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Another commenter described the situation as a “scandal for Zionist businessmen.”

The commenter added, “Extremist Jewish businessmen offer $250 for every American student attending the pro-Israel rally in Washington.”

Yet another wrote, “Israel on Campus Coalition offers $250 to college students to push them to attend a Pro-Israel Rally in Washington D.C. … Talk about desperate measures.” another

This scandalous Israeli initiative comes in the same week as a new report that shows how popular support for Israel has considerably waned among US citizens as Israeli occupation forces continue to intensify their genocidal war against Gaza.

“Our latest poll, taken four weeks after the attack, during a period when national and international attention had shifted to Israel’s subsequent attacks in the Gaza Strip, shows that Israel has lost much of that early support, especially among democrats,” think tank Brookings Institutions said in its report on November 8.

The poll used in the report also showed that democrats, particularly youth in the US, now view US President Joe Biden as “too pro Israel” compared to October.

The ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza has stirred uproar worldwide, including in the US, where thousands have been taking part in waves of pro-Palestine protests to condemn the unfolding genocide against Palestinians.

Since October 7, Israel has massacred over 11,000 Palestinians, including 4,500 children.
