Rabat – From November 15 to 19, the southern Moroccan city of Dakhla will host the second edition of the “Dakhla Green Week,” a week of cultural, artistic and environmental events.

Following the celebration of the 68th anniversary of independence and the 48th anniversary of the glorious Green March, this significant event will be marked by youth-focused, eco-friendly activities that focus on sustainable development.

According to a press release, the event will also feature a series of engaging musical evenings with a variety of local musicians, with the goal of promoting cultural entertainment in the southwestern city.

The statement added that the goal of these initiatives, which will be implemented in collaboration with Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region schools and associations, is to instill in the next generation exemplary civic values and behaviors.

The program of the event includes a series of environmentally conscious activities, such as cleaning the city’s beaches and alleys, planting trees, and protecting marine and terrestrial flora, with the aim of instilling the right values and actions in the future generation.

According to the same source, Hassanie culture and its powerful messages will also be highlighted in Dakhla’s town squares, noting that the city, known as the “Pearl of the South,” will be alive with the sounds of artistic evenings, including the performance of native Hassanie music by local artists and troupes.

In addition to mini-shows and campaigns to raise awareness about the responsible use of water, the organizers hope to create a children’s village with fun activities, craft and painting workshops, and other attractions for the younger guests.
