Rabat – A recent study by French travel and tourism operator Club Med unveiled the Moroccan city of Marrakech as one of the top 10 trending wedding destinations for next year.  

The red city’s appeal has earned the seventh spot on the list of the most romantic wedding and honeymoon destinations worldwide.

The study, which was based on an analysis of Google search data from the past year, highlighted Marrakech’s rising popularity with a notable overall score of 70 out of 100.

The study indicated that the number of online searches of Marrakech saw a 4% increase compared to the previous year, reaching an impressive 23,800 searches.

In addition, Marrakech has made a significant impact on popular social media platforms, added the study. 

On TikTok alone, the hashtag #Marrakechwedding has garnered 3.4 million views. Meanwhile, the hashtag featured in 28,600 posts on Instagram.

Marrakech is one of the top tourist destinations in Morocco, attracting visitors from across the world.

The city’s unique blend of history, culture, and nature makes it a must-visit destination for travelers, including couples, seeking an immersive experience in Moroccan heritage or a romantic getaway.

Bali led the ranking as the most sought-after romantic wedding destination worldwide, with an overall score of 92 out of 100.

The Indonesian Island was followed by Lake Como in Northern Italy, and Colorado in the second and third spots respectively.

Creek Island Santorini secured the fourth third spot, followed by Mexican city Cancun in fifth place. Meanwhile, the French capital Paris, known as the most romantic city in the world, ranked sixth on the list.
