Rabat – Morocco’s national program for training young football talent has received high remarks from FIFA, the Royal Federation of Moroccan Football (FRMF) reported today. Officials from the world football governing body visited Morocco twice as part of FIFA’s international talent development initiative to see the program up close and assess its impact.

According to the FRMF, FIFA’s delegation visited several major Moroccan clubs involved in the program, including Wydad Athletic Club, Raja Club Athletic, FUS Rabat, and Renaissance Sportive de Berkane.

FIFA representatives expressed during the visits admiration for the work done to identify and nurture young players within Morocco’s football system.

The FRMF said FIFA was “greatly impressed” with the Moroccan model and is now considering adopting this framework in other African countries. This recognition could help spread Morocco’s approach to football talent development more widely across the continent.

In light of this positive evaluation, FIFA plans to hold a seminar in Morocco in April 2026 focused on training and improving the skills of Moroccan coaches and instructors. The event will bring together technical staff and trainers to share knowledge and techniques that can further elevate youth development efforts in the country and beyond.

FIFA will also work in partnership with the FRMF to provide financial support to some of the clubs that participate in the national program to help them modernize their infrastructure and strengthen their facilities.

However, the FRMF clarified that the funds will not go directly to the clubs. Instead, the federation will manage and allocate the support based on the specific needs of each club.

The national talent program has become increasingly important in Morocco’s broader football development strategy, which has already delivered notable successes. Moroccan youth teams are making waves on the international stage, with achievements such as winning the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2025 and strong performances in continental tournaments.
