Marrakech – Morocco’s Embassy in Spain and Spanish education group Planeta Formacion y Universidades launched the third edition of their joint scholarship program for Moroccan nationals residing in Spain.

The 2026-2027 call for applications opened on April 22 and will remain open until July 5. A total of 214 scholarships are available across vocational training, bachelor’s, continuing education, and doctoral programs.

The initiative falls under a cooperation protocol signed between the two parties in 2023. It targets Moroccan professionals and young people with permanent or long-term residency in Spain.

Recipients can choose from more than 140 programs spread across 10 fields of study offered by institutions within the Planeta Formacion y Universidades network.

The network includes institutions such as EAE Business School, Barcelona Culinary Hub, iFP, OBS Business School, BIU Broward International University, The Core School, UNIE Universidad, and Universidad Internacional de Valencia. Programs are delivered in-person, blended, and online formats.

Three types of scholarships are available. They cover 100%, 75%, or 50% of tuition costs respectively. Scholarships cover tuition fees, though enrollment and administrative charges may still apply.

Candidate selection is based on academic records. In case of a tie, priority goes by order of registration. Applicants must hold Moroccan nationality, maintain valid residency in Spain, and meet the admission requirements for their chosen program. Applications are submitted through a dedicated online platform.

The program has grown since its launch. The second edition in 2024-2025 offered 241 scholarships across 126 programs in more than 10 areas of study. This third edition expands the program catalog to over 140 options.

Ambassador Karima Benyaich told MAP the partnership, now in its third year, reflects a steady commitment to training Moroccan youth, describing education as a fundamental pillar for their future and professional success.

Benyaich also pointed to the strategic dimension of the cooperation. Planeta has operated in Morocco since 2017 through several training institutions. She announced 300 additional scholarships, partial and full, for students in Morocco.

She noted that Morocco serves as a regional platform for training, particularly for African countries, and pointed to the group’s investments in health sciences and digital education infrastructure.

Planeta CEO Carlos Giménez said he was satisfied with the program’s consolidation and the results recorded in previous editions. He cited the positive impact on beneficiaries’ academic and professional trajectories.

Giménez reaffirmed the group’s commitment to supporting Moroccan talent. He indicated that Planeta plans to develop new educational projects in Morocco and continue investing in modern infrastructure in coordination with Moroccan authorities.
