Rabat – Spanish authorities have expelled a Moroccan national described as a high-risk repeat offender following a prolonged judicial and police investigation spanning dozens of arrests and multiple convictions, according to Spain’s National Police.

The individual, identified by investigators as a suspected leader of a criminal network, had been arrested around 40 times and convicted on nine separate occasions for offences including attempted homicide, violent robbery, assault, and road safety violations.

Police sources say the suspect repeatedly used evasive tactics to avoid arrest, frequently changing residences and allegedly renting high-end vehicles through intermediaries to facilitate his movements and escapes. Authorities also linked him to incidents of dangerous driving, including attempts to ram law enforcement officers during police checks.

The investigation that led to his removal culminated earlier this week when officers located him on Monday evening in Marratxí, on the island of Mallorca. At the time of the arrest, he was accompanied by another member of the alleged criminal group, who was reportedly acting as a driver despite not holding a valid licence. That individual was also detained and charged with a traffic-related offence.

Following his arrest, immigration authorities initiated procedures to enforce a previously issued expulsion order within the Schengen area. The suspect was transferred under tight security to Madrid before being deported to Morocco on Thursday, with a ban on re-entry into Schengen territory.

Spanish police described the operation as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle repeat criminal activity and reinforce public safety measures targeting high-risk offenders operating across regions.
