Rabat – In a shocking crime that has shaken the local community, an elderly woman aged 76 was brutally murdered and raped in the outskirts of the Moroccan town of Berrechid.
Local authorities have arrested of two suspects, one of whom is a minor, under suspicion of their involvement in the rape and murder of the elderly woman, according to local reports. The two suspects, aged 16 and 36, were presented before the King’s Attorney General at the Court of Appeals in Settat on Friday.
The victim had been residing in a cottage within a rural farmland in the Oulad Ben Amer district, in the province of Berrechid.
The tragic incident unfolded when she was attacked by two individuals identified as a 16-year-old juvenile and a 36-year-old adult, who allegedly intended to rob her while she was under sedation.
However, the situation took a horrifying turn as they allegedly subjected the elderly woman to a brutal rape and violence using a sharp weapon.

After committing their crime, the two suspects callously disposed of her lifeless body in a desolate area before fleeing.
Soon after, a passerby discovered the victim’s body near the Regional Road 3336, which connects the towns of Al Gara and Mediouna, falling under the territorial jurisdiction of the Oulad Ziane tribe.
After being informed of the crime, local authorities, including the diagnostic unit, arrived at the scene to conduct an examination of the body. The investigation revealed signs of violence caused by a sharp object.
The body was transferred to the medical anatomy department in the Casablanca-Settat region to determine the exact cause of death.
The heinous crime has left the local community in shock and grief over the tragic loss of life.
