Rabat – Moroccan national team head coach Mohammed Ouahbi confirmed that the setbacks experienced by Neil El Aynaoui and Yassine Bounou are minor and should not worry supporters.

Speaking in yesterday’s post-match press  conference, Ouahbi said about the health condition of Aynaoui: “He was a little sick. He caught a mild virus, but it’s nothing serious. As for Bounou, he only felt a slight discomfort in his back, but really, nothing serious.”

The head coach emphasized his belief in squad depth, stating that every player must remain match-ready, and noted that managing player workloads and avoiding risks would not deter him from trusting his available goalkeepers and rotational players in international games.

“Every player needs to feel invested, essential to the squad, and ready to step onto the pitch,” he added.

To prepare for the FIFA 2026 World Cup, Morocco is focusing on squad health and readiness. Keeping every player fit allows the team to rotate its lineup without losing tactical stability, ensuring the team stays efficient and stable no matter who is on the pitch.

With only six days left until their World Cup opener, the Atlas Lions are gearing up to travel to the US. Morocco will kick off their Group C campaign against South American giants Brazil, with the entire squad required to be at peak readiness.
