Rabat – Maghreb de Fes have confirmed that their Botola Pro match against Raja Casablanca will be played at the Stade d’Honneur in Meknes on Thursday, October 8.
The Matchday 3 fixture had initially been listed by the National Professional Football League for the Grand Stade de Fes, but MAS later announced that the game would instead take place in Meknes.
Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. Morocco time.
The change comes because the Grand Stade de Fes is currently closed for renovation and rehabilitation work as Morocco prepares its stadium infrastructure ahead of the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
Early test between two winning sides
The fixture brings together two clubs that have started the new Botola campaign with victories.
MAS Fes currently lead the standings with six points after winning both of their opening matches. They began their title defense with a 2-1 victory over Renaissance Zemamra before beating Hassania Agadir by the same scoreline on Saturday.
Raja, meanwhile, have played only one league match so far after their opening fixture against AS FAR was postponed.
The Green Eagles began their campaign on Saturday with a 1-0 victory over Renaissance Zemamra at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca. Othmane Chraibi scored the only goal in the 27th minute.
The result gave Raja three points from their first appearance of the season.
Thursday’s meeting will therefore provide an early test for both teams, with MAS seeking a third consecutive victory and Raja looking to maintain their winning start.
The change of venue also means MAS will temporarily play outside Fes while work continues on their usual home stadium.
After facing Raja, MAS are scheduled to travel north for a Matchday 4 meeting with Ittihad Tanger on October 14, while Raja will visit FUS Rabat a day earlier.
