Vertiv, Cybastion Partner to Expand Digital Infrastructure Across Africa

Morocco is among the key markets covered by a new Vertiv-Cybastion partnership seeking to expand digital infrastructure and support Africa’s growing demand for data centers.

Agadir – Vertiv and US technology company Cybastion have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to support the development of digital infrastructure across several African markets, including Morocco.

The agreement, signed in Marrakech on Monday, establishes a framework for collaboration in Northwest Africa, covering Morocco, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Chad, and Gabon.

The partnership aims to help Vertiv engage earlier in large-scale digital infrastructure projects by combining its data center expertise with Cybastion’s relationships and experience in government-led digital transformation programs.

“As AI, cloud and sovereign digital infrastructure investments accelerate across Africa, customers are increasingly seeking end-to-end ecosystems rather than standalone technology providers. Through our collaboration with Cybastion, Vertiv can position its power, cooling and critical infrastructure solutions within broader national digitalisation programmes, creating access to additional prospects,” said Zineb Kamri, regional director for Northwest Africa at Vertiv.

Kamri further maintained that the two companies seek to establish a scalable framework that can be applied to joint opportunities across the region.

“Cybastion has already established a strong footprint in West and Central Africa and is actively expanding into North Africa. This geographic reach complements Vertiv’s regional growth strategy. Morocco, in particular, represents a key market, especially given its ambition to become a regional digital hub and attract hyperscale and AI infrastructure investments.”

Cybastion CEO Thierry Wandji said the partnership would support the deployment of infrastructure needed to meet the continent’s growing digital needs.

“As demand for data centres, AI infrastructure and secure digital platforms continues to grow across Africa, our collaboration with Vertiv strengthens our ability to rapidly deploy the critical digital infrastructure needed to help African countries move toward digital sovereignty,” Wandji explained.

Vertiv provides power, cooling, IT infrastructure, software, analytics, and related services for data centers, communication networks, and commercial and industrial facilities.
