Rabat – The Muslims community in Brazil will celebrate Eid Al Fitr 2023 on Friday April 21, according to a statement from Mesquita Brasil (SBM), the oldest mosque in Brazil and one of the oldest mosques in South America.

The same source noted that Eid al Fitr prayer will be held tomorrow at 8:00 a.m.

There are reportedly over 200,000 Muslims residing in Brazil, meaning a significant number of worshippers will be celebrating Eid in the country.

Ramadan lasted 29 days in many countries, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Qatar, which are also celebrating Eid al-Fitr on Friday, April 21.

Meanwhile, after a 30-day fast, Morocco will celebrate Eid on Saturday, April 22.

Eid Al Fitr is a special celebration that marks the completion of Ramadan and the beginning of Shawwal, the tenth month in the Islamic calendar.

Muslims worldwide follow similar rituals in the morning of the feast, including Eid Al Fitr prayers in local mosques.

Following the prayers, families exchange visits and share the first-morning breakfast, which includes various pastries and foods based on each country’s culinary traditions.

Children also celebrate, with many receiving clothes, toys, or money as gifts for the occasion.
