The Emirati news website Khaleej Times reported that UAE public sector employees will be given a four-day holiday to commemorate Eid Al Fitr.

Similarly, employees in the private sector will receive a paid holiday from Ramadan 29 to Shawwal 3 for the celebration, according to a statement from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE).

Employees will return to work on the fourth of Shawwal, reverting to their regular working hours which are reduced during Ramadan.

Prior to the Eid Al Fitr morning prayer, 10 Eid musallahs in the emirate were cleaned and arrangements were made to receive Muslim worshipers.

Eid Al Fitr is an important Islamic holiday that marks the end of the month-long fasting period of Ramadan.

Eid Al Fitr is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal, the Islamic calendar’s tenth month. It is a time when Muslims gather with their loved ones and friends, go to special prayers at the mosque, give to those in need, and delight in festive meals and treats.

In the morning of the feast, Muslims around the world observe similar rituals, including Eid Al Fitr prayers in local mosques.

Muslims also visit one another’s families and offer toys, money, or clothing to the younger members of their family.
