Casablanca – Raja Casablanca have officially announced the departure of Spanish head coach Paco Jemez following a disappointing start to the season, with Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to RS Berkane marking his final match in charge.
In a statement published on Monday, the club said the decision followed a thorough assessment of the team’s sporting situation, particularly its results, quality of play, and overall development, which had fallen short of expectations.

Raja explained that its sporting committee and sporting management considered a change in technical leadership necessary to introduce a new dynamic and help the team achieve its objectives.
The announcement brings an end to Jemez’s brief spell in Casablanca, just over two months after his appointment on August 31.
The Spaniard arrived with considerable coaching experience, having previously managed Rayo Vallecano, Granada, Las Palmas, and Cruz Azul, among other clubs.
However, results proved difficult to improve. Raja have collected just six points from their opening five league matches, recording one victory, three draws, and one defeat.
Sunday’s defeat to RS Berkane left the Green Eagles in 13th place in the Botola Pro standings.
Jemez had already faced questions about his future following the draw against Hassania Agadir. According to El Botola, he requested another opportunity to improve the team’s performances during a meeting with club officials.
After the defeat in Berkane, the Spanish coach publicly apologized to Raja supporters and accepted responsibility for the performance.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Jemez acknowledged that his team had failed to deliver the expected display and said he was prepared to accept whatever decision the club made regarding his future.
The Green Eagles now face a demanding schedule, beginning with Wednesday’s postponed league fixture against AS FAR, while preparations for the CAF Confederation Cup group stage also remain on the agenda.
