Rabat – Abdessamad Ezzalzouli’s astonishing performances with Spanish club Osasuna, where he plays on loan from FC Barcelona, have impressed FC Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez.
The Moroccan footballer helped his club to a 2-1 win against Elche on Saturday during a game in La Liga.
Ezzalzouli’s performances served as an opportunity for Xavi to comment on the football player, who joined Osasuna on loan from FC Barcelona in September 2022.
“Abde is making the most of his loan, he’s making a difference and we’re very happy with him. At Barca, you need players at that level,” Xavi said, stressing that the club will decide whether to keep Ezzalzouli when he comes back.
“But Abde can be important for us,” the coach added.
FC Barcelona’s coach, however, is expecting more from the Moroccan player, stressing that his level is not always the same as it was during the game against Elche.
“He is not always at the level he was against Elche, and he has to be like that every game if he wants to be at Barca,” he explained. “He can be an important player for the future.”
Ezzalzouli is also a key player for Morocco’s Atlas Lions team. Morocco’s head coach Walid Regragui called him up to take part in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Ezzalzouli was also present in Morocco’s friendly games against Peru and Brazil in late March.
