Rabat – Egyptian club Al Ahly will face off against Brazil’s Flamengo on Saturday as part of the ongoing Club World Cup. The game will determine the third-place winner in the tournament, which is taking place in Morocco.

The match will kick off at 4:30 pm GMT+1 in the Ibn Battouta Stadium in Tangier, and will be broadcast live on Moroccan sports channel Arryadia’s TNT version and the Saudi Sports Channel (SSC). Some regions will be able to watch the game live on FIFA+.

The Brazilian club lost its semifinals game against Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahly 3-2 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Al Ahly suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of the tournament’s favorites and reigning champions, Spain’s Real Madrid on Wednesday.

The winner of today’s match will take home $2.5 million (MAD 25.62 million), while the losing team will claim a $2 million (MAD 20.49 million) award, AS reported.

While the Egyptian side displayed a favorable performance throughout the tournament, Flamengo are favorites to win today’s clash.

Al Ahly took the longer route in the tournament to reach this stage, whereas the Latin American team joined the sporting event from the semifinal stage.

Al Ahly comfortably won 3-0 in their opening game against New Zealand’s Auckland city on February 1. The Egyptian team then defeated 1-0 the US’ Seattle Sounders in the second round on February 4.

Following today’s third-place match, Al Hilal and Real Madrid will lock horns at 8:30 pm GMT+1 to determine the Club World Cup’s champions. The game will take place at the Moulay Abdellah Stadium in the Moroccan capital of Rabat.

The Club World Cup kicked off on February 1, with the participation of seven clubs.
