Rabat- FIFA President Gianni Infantino and the president of the African Football Confederation (CAF) Patrice Motsepe will reportedly attend the draw for the 2023 Club World Cup which will take place on January 13, at the Mohammed VI Football Academy in Sale, near Morocco’s capital Rabat.
Moroccan news outlet, le 360 cited a source close to Morocco’s Football Federation (FRMF) on January 12, confirming that both Infantino and Motsepe will attend the ceremony starting at 12:00 pm.
The sporting event is set to take place in Morocco between February 1 – 11, FIFA confirmed on December 16.
The tournament matches will be held in Rabat and Tangier, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium and the Ibn Batouta Stadium, respectively.
The participating teams include Spain’s Real Madrid, Brazil’s Flamengo, the US’ Seattle Sounders, Egypt’s Al Ahly, New Zealand’s Auckland City, and Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal, according to FIFA.
Wydad Athletic Club (WAC) will represent Morocco in the tournament. The team has made outstanding performances in recent years, particularly under the leadership of renowned head coach Walid Regragui.
