Rabat – Morocco’s metropolitan city Casablanca is set to host the second annual International Forum of Industrial Zones, a conference aiming to bring together experts, policymakers, and business makers to boost the competitiveness of Morocco’s industrial landscape.

The event is held under the theme “sustainable industrial zones, how do they contribute to the competitiveness of the industry?” The Forum will take place on December 7, at the Golden Square in Casablanca.

Morocco’s Industry and Trade Minister Ryad Mezzour is set to speak at the event alongside the Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development Leila Benali, and AMDIE’s Director General Ali Seddiki among others.

The event is scheduled to hold a debate on the sustainability of Moroccan industrial zones, as well as on decarbonizing the sector.

The discussion is equally set to cover Morocco’s industrial land offering, and provide a platform for sharing the best practices related to the development of international-grade industrial zones.

Boosting industrial infrastructure is at the heart of public policies in Morocco. The country currently has more than 138 industrial zones and 12 industrial acceleration zones.

Through a number of state projects, Morocco is currently home to over 12,000 hectares of developed or under development industrial land. Therefore, the Casablanca event is in line with Morocco’s national strategy to enhance the competitiveness of the national industrial landscape.

Organized by industry-focused magazine Industrie du Maroc Magazine and the ministry of trade and industry, the event presents “an opportunity to bring together industrialists from all sectors, including automotive, aerospace, chemicals, textiles, plastics, as well as institutional actors and international organizations” the organizers said in a statement.

Organizers further explain that the conference “will also consolidate Morocco’s industrial offering by bringing together actors from across the value chain in the industrial ecosystem.”
