Rabat – Chairwoman of the Israel Capital Markets Authority Anat Guetta will represent her country in the 47th annual conference of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), which will take place from October 17-19 in Marrakech.
Guetta is expected to discuss the impacts, benefits, and risks of open finance, fintech, and cryptocurrencies at the conference.
“The biggest challenge in implementing technological innovation in financial markets is the need to keep learning and to keep up with the pace of change brought by new technologies,” Guetta said, emphasizing that it is the regulator’s responsibility to equalize financial opportunities for the public.
She also emphasized the importance of partnerships for expertise sharing.
“We have to make an effort to create a global space that allows, on the one hand, legitimate activity, and, on the other hand, manages the risks associated with the activity, and I am convinced that this conference is the right place to build international cooperation,” she added.
The annual meeting of the IOSCO is being held for the first time in Morocco, bringing together representatives of financial market regulators.
IOSCO is an international body that brings together securities regulators from across the world to develop and promote compliance with internationally recognized standards for securities regulation.
Nezha Hayat is the CEO and chairperson of Morocco’s market authority. According to Morocco’s Capital Market Authority, this year’s annual meeting marks the resumption of IOSCO’s memorable in-person Annual Meetings after the unprecedented effects of the pandemic.
