Rabat – Morocco’s Atlas Lions friendly game against Paraguay has ended in a 0-0 draw. The game, which took place at the Benito Villamarin Stadium in Seville, Spain, was an opportunity for the national team to test their readiness for the upcoming World Cup.

Although neither the Moroccan football team nor the Paraguayan squad were able to score a winning goal during their match, the players have produced a remarkable performance.

Tonight’s game comes days after the Atlas Lions’ defeated 2-0 fellow Latin country Chile in another pre-World Cup friendly game, which took place in the Spanish city of Barcelona.

Moroccan football fans were satisfied with the national team’s performance, a reflection of their readiness ahead of the global tournament in Qatar.

The match against Chile marked the Atlas Lions’ first game under the leadership of the newly appointed head coach Walid Regragui, with many hailing the positive results the team has so far produced under his management.

The Atlas Lions’ fans have high hopes for Regragui to bring back the national team’s unity and harmony, as well as successfully lead them at the upcoming World Cup.

The two friendly matches also marked the return of Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech after almost nine months of absence due to a feud with Morocco’s previous head coach Vahid Halilhodzich.

At the beginning of this year, Ziyech announced his retirement from Morocco’s football team, attributing his decision to leave the team to feeling unwanted and unwelcome.

Following the departure of Halilhodzich and the appointment of Regragui, the latter called up Ziyech to take part in Morocco’s upcoming matches.

The international friendly, which was an opportunity for the team to test their preparedness for the World Cup, restored Moroccan’s hope for the Atlas Lions to offer a good performance in Qatar.

The quadrennial sporting event will take place between November 20 and December 18. Morocco’s opening match will be against Croatia on November 23. The national team will then face Belgium on November 27 and Canada on December 1.
