Rabat – Fans of the Moroccan club Maghreb Fez (MAS), going by Fatal Tigers, showed off a tifo supporting Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over the Sahara during a game on Saturday.
A massive tifo extending over a full section of the stadium stands read: “Our Sahara, our home,” with a banner beneath that reads “the Sahara dossier is the lens through which Morocco looks at the world.”
The banner is a reference to a speech King Mohammed VI made on August 20, where he laid out the centrality of Western Sahara for Morocco and emphasized that the kingdom expects all its economic partners and strategic allies to adopt a clear position on the Sahara dispute.

The display was accompanied by another tifo showing a full map of Morocco with the green star from the country’s flag.
A tifo is a phenomenon where supporters of a sports team make a choreographed visual display of flags, banners, or other displays to highlight an issue or support a cause.
Commonly seen in important matches, tifos are usually organized by ultras or club supporters for their team. In this case, it was the Fatal Tigers, dedicated fans of MAS, who organized the display.
As Morocco has been making strides in gathering international support for its sovereignty over the Sahara and its Autonomy Plan, the MAS fans’ display is a manifestation of King Mohammed VI’s recent call on Moroccans to mobilize in support of their country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
