Rabat – Morocco’s national coach Reynald Pedros has revealed the list of female football players for the upcoming African Cup of Nations (CAN) scheduled from July 2 to 23.
The national squad will consist of 26 players who will face Burkina Faso, Senegal, and Uganda in the group stage of the tournament at the sports complex Prince Moulay Abdellah in Rabat.
The Atlas Lionesses’ first match will be against Burkina Faso on July 2 in Rabat, three days before its second scheduled game against Uganda. The third match against Senegal will take place on July 8.
Twelve qualified African teams will compete in the continental event within three groups. Group B consists of Cameroon, Zambia, Tunisia, and Togo while Group C includes Nigeria, South Africa, Burundi, and Botswana.

Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses are expected to lead Group A in the 2022 TotalEnergies African Cup. The national team recently ranked 8th among the African football teams ahead of their Senegalese, Burkinabe, and Ugandan competitors.
