Rabat – Coventry University will soon become the first British university to open a branch campus in Morocco.
The new campus will be located in Bouskoura, near Casablanca, and is scheduled to welcome students in September. The student admission remains subject to final approval, Coventry said in a press release.
Coventry’s Moroccan branch is set to offer courses in engineering, architecture, and business with the support of the British Schools Educational Services Prives (BSESP) organization.
The new branch campus is expected to provide students with degree qualifications similar to the ones awarded at Coventry’s campuses in the UK. It will also follow the model of the university’s Knowledge Hub in Egypt.

“Coventry University’s global outlook brings great benefits to students and staff, enabling us to share best research practices and ensure more and more people have access to life-changing qualifications,” said John Latham, Vice-Chancellor of Coventry University.
Commanding Coventry’s work in building a network of global hubs, Latham recalled that his university recently received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the category of International Trade.
The new “ground-breaking project,” said Tariq Obaid, President of BSESP, “will result in offering high quality British education in Morocco, which is in the heart of Africa and is geographically the gateway to Africa from Europe and the UK.”
Recalling the role of Morocco’s Ministry of Higher Education in supporting the Coventry project, Obaid noted “Morocco [with the support of the British Embassy and the British Council] has made great progress in raising the standard of education available, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.”
