Rabat – Morocco’s rising star Ayyoub Bouaddi continues to make headlines following his spectacular performances for Morocco at the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Bouaddi is under the radar of fans, pundits, as well as elite clubs, with an impressive display in Morocco’s opening match against Brazil.
Another masterful performance against Scotland followed Bouaddi’s strong debut.
Bouaddi continues to shine as several reports from EFE and renowned Spanish sports outlets such as Mundo Deportivo and Sport revisit the player’s outstanding form.
A new report quotes sources within Morocco’s national team who describe him as “having traits reminiscent of Busquets, Xavi, and Iniesta,” adding that “he has a very mature head on his shoulders,” according to EFE.
The report further recalled his youth journey and young age, describing him as a gifted speaker and future mathematician.
Bouaddi joined Lille’s academy when he was only 14. His father was a handball player and later moved into banking.
He also served as deputy mayor of Creil, where Bouaddi grew up.
The report also sheds light on his academic journey, stating Bouaddi already completed his pre-university studies at the age of 16 and is now pursuing a degree in mathematics.
Several reports also highlight how France is reeling after Bouaddi chose to represent Morocco.
“Morocco’s recruitment campaign targeting talented players of Moroccan heritage around the world eventually entered the picture,” the report added.
A source within Morocco’s national team told EFE how Bouaddi looked like a star against Brazil.
“A calm, simple player, but with a vision of the game that makes everything flow more easily.”
Several elite stars are already monitoring the Atlas Lion, with Chelsea, PSG, Real Madrid, and others reportedly among the sides tracking his development through their scouting networks.
