Rabat – Morocco’s agri-food manufacturer Oland Group on Tuesday inaugurated four new production lines for melted cheese triangular in Casablanca.

The company reported on LinkedIn that an official delegation chaired by Morocco’s Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour attended the inauguration ceremony.

Speaking at the event, Mezzour noted that the new production lines align with Morocco’s national strategy for developing the dairy sector to meet local needs and extend exportation services.

Referring to the importance of the dairy sector, the Moroccan minister said “it is a strategic sector and a strong link in the agri-food industry whose essential role in the food sovereignty of our country is attested and will have to be further strengthened.”

In February, Oland Group signed an investment agreement with Morocco’s Ministries of Finance and Industry and the National Agency for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises (ANPME) to benefit from an investment bonus of MAD 15 million ($1.5 million), noting that the project will cost a total of  MAD 80 million ($8.04 million).

Marwane Anbaoui, CEO of Oland Group, was delighted to benefit from the government program aiming to promote investment in the agri-food sector.

The program “has enabled us to create 151 direct jobs, three Made In Morocco brands and plan to export some MAD 40 million [$4 million] by 2024,” Anbaoui said.

Founded in 2002, Oland Group is based in Casablanca and operates from a 20,000 m2 industrial unit with an annual production capacity of 15,000 tonnes.

The company has invested MAD 200 million since 2017 to develop its industrial facilities. Currently, nearly 400 people work throughout Oland’s operation chain.

In April, Oland Group received the best flavor award for 2022 for its slice cheddar and Emmental cheese by one of its three brands, Boule d’Or. The group also owns Oland and El Mejor Chef products.

“Our products have successfully passed the taste examination performed by a popular consumer jury in this test of taste and excellence! Special mention to the Oland Group teams who made this achievement possible,” the company said on the occasion.
