Rabat – Worshippers from outside Saudi Arabia can now register online for the Umrah visa, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced.
The ministry said in a statement on its official Twitter account that pilgrims must apply for the Umrah visa through the platforms of Umrah service providers that the ministry has approved.
The Umrah program includes housing and transportation services, as well as completing all the requirements for the electronic visa and allowing the pilgrim to print the visa directly.
The e-registration process for the Umrah visa includes three basic steps, the ministry added.
After logging into one of the approved Umrah platforms, Umrah seekers should fill in the information regarding the Umrah program, which includes housing and transportation services.
In addition, the pilgrims should choose the Umrah company that will accompany them and provide them with services during their stay in Saudi Arabia.
Pilgrims should also fill in their personal data and electronic payment information and attach the required documents.
Umrah performers should then submit the visa application by logging into the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ (MOFA) website and completing data entry.
“The visa will be issued electronically so that the Umrah performer can print it directly,” concluded the ministry.
As Saudi Arabia has lifted most of its COVID-19 precautionary measures, foreign worshippers can perform Umrah this year.
On its official website, the ministry urged the worshippers to prepare for the Umrah by bringing a special bag for medication in case a pilgrim follows a certain medical treatment and also to prepare for any medical emergency that might occur.
In addition, the ministry stressed the importance of bringing copies of important documents that pilgrims might need during their trip.
