Rabat – Adel El Fakir, the Director-General of Morocco’s National Tourism Office (ONMT) held on Thursday a meeting with tourism operators in the city of London

The ONMT official held a meeting with representatives from the aviation and travel company EasyJet as well as professionals from the Association of British Travel Agencies and Tour Operators

According to the tourism office,  the ONMT meeting comes in line with Morocco’s decision to reopen the

ONMT said that it made immediate efforts to promote Morocco’s tourism sector in the British market.

The office announced that EasyJet intends to schedule regular flights to Morocco, starting this month. The programs planned for the upcoming summer season “seem very promising as EasyJet has previously announced a proposal that includes 75 trims per week lining Moroccan destinations with six European countries,” ONMT said.

The EasyJet program includes flights that seek to connect Morocco with France, the UK, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, among others.

El Fakir concluded the meeting by expressing ONMT’s satisfaction and confidence in achieving good results.

“It was necessary for us to reaffirm our common vision, and to clarify some points to continue enhancing confidence with all air transport operations and British travel in an extended and sustainable manner,” he said.

In addition to ONMT’s UK visit, El Fakir also held similar meetings with travel and tourism operators in France this week.

The meetings involved tourism professionals and representatives from Transavia, a subsidiary of the Air France-KLM group.

“We wanted to be alongside our partners as quickly as possible with the aim of reassuring them of the realities of a recovery that is both imminent and above all sustainable,” El Fakir said in the meeting.

Several airlines expressed satisfaction with Morocco’s decision to reopen borders.

Transavia, Air Arabia Maroc, Royal Air Maroc have all announced that they will resume flights to and from Morocco on February 7.
